Botanical Name:Peltogyne Spp.
Density:ca. 905 kg/m³
Due its weight, is not common to use it for making bodies but there are people that make it, isn't something that I recommend if you have appreciation for your back. Its color when you cut it is grey/brown that on contact with the air, it oxidizes and appear the fantastic red color that we use for our instruments.
Normally it's only use for decorations, biindings, inlays or wood separations which it gives a distinctive touch to the instrument.
Peltogyne spp. doesn't appear on the list Cites, so it doesn't need certification any kind.
